Fuel Stabilizer for Small Engines
Stabilizer works best when it goes into fresh fuel before storage—not after an engine already has varnish in the carburetor. The goal is to get treated fuel through the entire system.
Start with fresh fuel
Measure the label dose
Run treated fuel through
Follow the manual's drain step
Best candidates
Generators, snowblowers, lawn equipment, ATVs and other gasoline engines that will sit for weeks or months. A standby generator that exercises automatically needs the maintenance schedule specified by its manufacturer instead of a generic storage routine.

- ✓ Label the storage date
- ✓ Store fuel in an approved container

Quick questions
Do I add stabilizer before or after filling?
Add the measured dose to fresh fuel as the product directs, then run the engine long enough for treated fuel to reach the carburetor or injection system.
Does stabilizer fix old gasoline?
No. It slows deterioration of fresh fuel; it does not restore badly oxidized or contaminated gasoline.
Should I drain the carburetor?
Follow the engine manual. Many seasonal carbureted machines benefit from shutting off fuel and draining the bowl after treated fuel has circulated, while other storage procedures differ.
