Espar Diesel Heaters
Espar—Eberspächer outside much of North America—builds serviceable premium air heaters for commercial vehicles, vans and RVs. Start with the space and ducting: D2L is not automatically too small, and D4L is not automatically better.

Choose D2L when
The space is compact and insulated, ducting is simple, and quiet low-output cycling matters. It is the normal van and truck-bunk starting point.
Choose D4L when
The enclosure is larger, heat loss is higher or the duct layout demands more capacity. Oversizing can still create short cycling and uneven comfort.
Do not forget the starting load
The official North American catalogue lists operating consumption separately from a starting draw of up to 100 W. Battery and wiring design must handle startup, not merely the low steady-state number.

Yes. Espar is the familiar North American name used for Eberspächer heating products.
D2L or D4L?
The D2L is the normal starting point for smaller insulated spaces and delivers up to 2.2 kW. The D4L reaches 4.0 kW and supports larger spaces or more demanding duct systems.
Does an Espar Airtronic warm engine coolant?
No. Airtronic heats air. Eberspächer Hydronic and electric block/coolant heaters are different product categories.
