Premium diesel air heat

Webasto Diesel Heaters

Webasto's Air Top 2000 STC is the familiar premium 2 kW heater for truck bunks, vans, RVs and boats. It heats air—not the engine coolant—and should be sized from the space rather than a marketplace wattage claim.

What to choose before ordering

Standard or high-altitude control

Webasto lists an RV Comfort package with MultiControl and high-altitude mode. Choose the control package for where the vehicle operates.

Diesel or gasoline

Match the heater to the vehicle fuel and exact kit. Do not improvise fuel-system components.

Air heater or coolant heater

Air Top heats occupied space. For engine heat, compare a coolant heater or the vehicle's electric block heater.

Complete installation kit

Combustion intake, exhaust, fuel supply, wiring, hot-air ducting and safe mounting are all part of the system—not accessories to skip.

The Canadian buying verdict

Choose Webasto when dealer support, documented parts and long-term serviceability matter more than the lowest initial price. Choose an electric engine heater when the actual job is easier cold starting at a location with shore power.

Find the heater or replacement cord

Verify fuel, voltage, control and kit completeness against Webasto documentation before ordering.

Quick questions

Does a Webasto Air Top 2000 heat the engine?

No. Air Top is an air heater for a cab, bunk, van or enclosed space. A Webasto coolant heater or electric block heater is the engine-preheating category.

How much fuel does an Air Top 2000 use?

Webasto lists approximately 0.12–0.24 litres per hour across its operating range.

Is 2 kW enough for a camper van?

Often, but insulation, interior volume, glass area, air leakage and the coldest design temperature matter. Avoid buying 4–8 kW solely from a marketplace title.

Compare with the Espar Airtronic guide and the broader diesel parking-heater comparison.
