Most installs route the cord to the front grille or bumper area, driver's side. Check for an existing coiled cord before buying anything.
Ford Bronco engines & block heater part numbers
Engine list built from Natural Resources Canada model-year data. Part numbers are catalog candidates unless a source review is shown for that application. Confirm the exact engine code, model year and installation port before ordering; an Amazon listing match does not confirm vehicle fitment.

What it costs to plug in a Ford Bronco — and what it saves
No supplier lists a wattage for every Bronco element, so this uses the 600 W figure typical of this body style. Natural Resources Canada recommends a timer that runs the heater two hours before you drive rather than all night — that is what the numbers below assume.
| Province | ¢/kWh | Cost per 2 h plug-in | Full winter (120 nights) | Net per day |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Quebec | 7.0 | $0.08 | $10.08 | +$0.33 |
| Manitoba | 10.2 | $0.12 | $14.69 | +$0.30 |
| Ontario (avg TOU) | 12.8 | $0.15 | $18.43 | +$0.26 |
| Alberta | 14.0 | $0.17 | $20.16 | +$0.25 |
| Saskatchewan | 15.5 | $0.19 | $22.32 | +$0.23 |
| Nova Scotia | 17.9 | $0.21 | $25.78 | +$0.20 |
Natural Resources Canada rates the Ford Bronco at 13.5 L/100 km in city driving (median across 1995–2026 model years). On a 20 km winter commute that is about 2.7 L a day. NRCan measured that at −20 °C a block heater improves overall fuel economy by as much as 10% — roughly 0.27 L, or $0.42 of gasoline at $1.55/L. On a single short trip at −25 °C the saving can reach 25%. In most provinces the electricity costs less than the fuel it saves; in the priciest it roughly breaks even, and you still get the wear, defrost and cabin-heat benefits.

Block heater recalls on the Ford Bronco
Transport Canada has recorded 3 recalls on the Bronco that involve the block heater or its cord. Check your VIN before you buy parts — if your vehicle is affected, the repair is free.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine block heater could leak coolant. If this happens, the block heater could short circuit when it's plugged in. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-554. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Ford advises you not to use the engine block heater until the recall repairs have been completed. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the block heater. Alternatively, owners can choose to have the dealership permanently disable the engine block heater.
This recall was replaced by Transport Canada recall no. 2026-005. Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine block heater could leak coolant. If this happens, the block heater could short circuit when it's plugged in.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine block heater could overheat when the block heater is plugged in. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a 1.5 L or 2.0 L engine and a factory-installed block heater. Safety Risk: An engine block heater and/or wiring that overheats or melts could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Ford advises you not to plug in the engine block heater until the recall repairs have been completed. Ford will notify owners by mail. You can choose to have the dealer remove the block heater, or once the final repair is available, Ford will send you another notice to advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the block heater element. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the block heater electrical cord.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display or to freeze when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the SYNC software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.

No tools? The stick-on option
If you'd rather skip the install entirely, a magnetic heater grips any flat steel surface — oil pan, block, transmission pan — and moves between vehicles. Check that the Bronco's oil pan is steel first: a magnet won't hold on aluminum or composite pans.

First: check whether you already have one
Canadian-market vehicles are often fitted at the port or dealer and then forgotten by the next owner, so check the cord location above before you buy anything. If a cord is there, test it — a dead element and a dead cord look identical from the outside.
If you need one installed
Budget $40–$120 CAD for the part plus about an hour of labour, and book in October — Prairie shop calendars fill after the first cold snap.
